![]() If you have the same contacts in each source the application lets you link them within Bus圜ontacts, but in order to avoid displaying duplicate contacts you also need “combine” the linked cards to change the way you see them. The upside of this option is that you can see all your contacts and their related social media feeds in one place. This makes sense, because for most Facebook feeds you can’t see information unless you’re logged in.Īdding social media has the effect of importing all contacts from each of your sources into Bus圜ontacts. I say “may” because Bus圜ontacts will pull someone‘s Twitter feed without requiring that you have your Twitter account set up, but it cannot pull Facebook information, even if you have your contact’s Facebook account information, without your having set an account up. If you’re using Apple’s 2-factor authentication for your iCloud data, you may need to create and use an app-specific password for Bus圜ontacts to gain access to your personal information.įor Bus圜ontacts to pull information from your contact’s social media feeds you may need to have related accounts set up in the application’s Accounts preference. Open the app and you’ll be walked through a multi-step process that gives Bus圜ontacts access to your to your contacts. Getting started with Bus圜ontacts is a snap. (Bus圜al is $50, and a bundle of Bus圜al and Bus圜ontacts is available for $80.)īus圜ontacts captures and centralizes email and event information for all your contacts. It’s a curious shortcoming, and one that may make it a deal killer for those simply looking for a good, basic CRM tool. So it seems that Google Contacts isn’t very friendly for the use of Contact Groups and should maybe be avoided if possible. While Bus圜ontacts is great at using OS X’s existing apps for most of this integration, there’s one small and somewhat annoying caveat when it comes to calendar info: If you want to pull your upcoming schedule into the application you’re going to have to commit to using BusyMac’s Bus圜al calendar app-Bus圜ontacts offers no direct integration with Apple’s Calendar app or any third-party calendar applications. For this reason, you may see a higher count of Contacts in Google Contacts, which would be a sum of Contacts + Tags in Bus圜ontacts) (Note: Tags in Bus圜ontacts appear as Contacts on Google Contacts, which is a side effect of syncing Tags in Bus圜ontacts with Groups in Apple Contacts. Tags in Bus圜ontacts do NOT map to Groups on Google Contacts. Tags in Bus圜ontacts map to Categories in Outlook and Exchange. Tags in Bus圜ontacts map to Groups in Apple Contacts and iCloud. You can use Tags in Bus圜ontacts to categorize and filter your contacts. I also use Bus圜ontacts and have seen the following text in their help files regarding contact groups: ![]() Instead of keep focusing on Gmail I decided to create the group in Apple Contacts and this one is showing up correctly in Airmail, also with the correct number of contacts. I think I found an alternative that seems to be working now: Update after one day of writing this post: After creating the group in Google Contacts it also doesn't show when you type the name in the To: field from a new message. I also tried to do it with Gmail directly through Chrome but must say that there it's also very badly implemented. Maybe they could work together with other contact apps like Bus圜ontacts and others to make this work better. Maybe the difficulty for Airmail lies in it's apparently very basic Contacs app. Even the Apple Mail app makes it possible but needs the Apple Contacts app to make it work. I will probably have to use another mail app whenever I want to send a message to a group of people. What is going on here? Why is this contact group thing such a huge hassle in Airmail? How can this be such a complicated thing to implement after more than 30 years of email software history? And when it does, it doesn't have all the contacts in it. I have to sync more than once to make it finally show up. After syncing the group that I created doesn't show in Airmail when I type its name in a new message. This syncing takes many minutes for about 1800 contacts and 30 groups. Then I use "sync contacts" in the Airmail Preferences also as instructed by them. My account and all addresses are from Gmail and I created the group through Google Contacts as instructed by the Airmail "manual". It's become quite frustrating by now.Īnyone else here uses contact groups for sending messages with Airmail (4) on macOS? I've also been in contact with their support (I have the Pro version) and receiving constant and quite fast responses but nothing that they suggest works. For a few days I've been trying to use a contacts group in Airmail 4 on macOS but it simply doesn't work.
